The IRCHA would like to send a major congratulations to the NRCHAโs newest MILLION DOLLAR RIDERS!! Their victories at our show this week helped push them into one of the most elite levels of our sport!!
Tucker Robinson hails from California and his family is filled with other talented cowhorse trainers. His wife, Tina, is a successful trainer, and his father, Ted, holds the record for most NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity wins. Before focusing on reined cowhorse, Tucker attended rodeos during high school, competing in team roping, calf roping and cutting. In 2010, Tucker was the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Champion riding Stylish Little Oak, a mare bred and owned by San Juan Ranch. Another one other of Tuckerโs top horses was Days Zanolena. The pair won the NRCHA Hackamore Classic in 2007, then in 2008, Tucker won the NRCHA Stallion Stakes and NRCHA Derby with the mare. (Credit: Ultracruz)
Brandon Buttars from Snowville, UT also achieved the milestone. He and his wife, Non Pro Sophia Buttars, are staples at both regional and premier events, with both claiming victories this week. Before training cowhorses, Brandon rode his familyโs racehorses and won the 1989 Utah State High School Rodeo Bull Riding Championship. He credits mentor Jack Forsberg with getting him started in horse training.
Among the titles Buttars has earned, he and This Cats The Mark, owned by Lori Adamski Peek, took the National Stock Horse Association Open and Intermediate Open Derby titles and the NRCHA DT Horses Western Derby Intermediate Open Derby Champion spot- along with a huge win in the Open Bridle here!!
