Avalon Goldstein showed her own, Yakety Yak to a 435.5 to be crowned the Youth Cowhorse Champion! They won $410 and a custom Gist buckle.
This class was generously sponsored by Wakley Livestock; Taylor, Millie, Harris and Betty. As part of their sponsorship, all cattle fees are waived for the youth! It’s so cool to watch the next generation lay down some amazing runs and we’re very proud of all the competitors!! Congratulations!

Congratulations to the champions of the 2025 Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Level 1 Non Pro Bridle at the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity, Metallic Freckle and McKinley Blake! The duo won the championship title sponsored by the Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Foundation with a composite score of 426.5, taking home a check for $1,624 along with a trophy buckle sponsored by Roy Rich and The Rich Group. Owned by Blake, Metallic Freckle is by Metallic Cat, out of Jasmin Sweet Freckle. Added money for the class was sponsored by Tres Osos Performance Horses.

The Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Foundation awards a combined total of $10,000 each year at the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity to the Youth classes in honor of Sherri Gilkerson, along with providing amazing awards! Congratulations to the 2025 Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Youth Bridle Top Five winners!
Avalon Goldstein and Once Upon A Hicapoo took home the 2025 Sherri Gilkerson Memorial Youth Bridle Championship title after marking a composite score of 430.5! The duo also won a $1,500 scholarship, the perpetual bronze trophy “Scene Of The Crime” donated by Linda Mars, a gold and silver headstall sponsored by Leslie Wright and Cynthia MacDonald Singer, and a trophy buckle sponsored by Murray Thompson, Broken Arrow Ranch. Once Upon A Hicapoo (Once In A Blu Boon x Sdp Hydriven Hicapoo) is owned by Goldstein.
